Oh Medina and your delicious decadent Belgium waffle goodness. A trip to Long & McQuade on a Saturday afternoon by my boyfriend was a perfect opportunity to try out this new little cafe quietly tucked away on Beatty Street. The beautiful Tiffany blue and chocolate brown decor and inviting bank of tables was the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy a few minutes of peace. The menu is really simple coffee+waffle+top = $6.00 (ok there is more but it's all about the waffles). We decided on vanilla americanos and the white chocolate pistachios waffle combo. The huge americanos came out first steamy and hot but without vanilla. I didn't even notice as I was focused on my waffles. The waiter promptly brought out new americanos hence the 4 steamy cups of coffee we enjoyed. The waffles are not large but are just enough treat to satisfy. And at $4 for another with more topping your not going to go for broke ordering a second....which we promptly did, this time just going for chocolate. Owned by the Belgiums over at Chambar, this quaint little cafe is a definite place to treat yourself. Sadly it's only open during the weekdays from 7:30-5 and Saturdays from 9-5...not a evening destination but for that head to Chambar.
